Sweet Thing is a vibrant, punk-themed baking business that was founded by Elizabeth Hughes, who built it from the ground up. Elizabeth crafts a wide variety of innovative pastries and desserts made with fresh, seasonal, local, and wholesome ingredients.

 

Her passion for baking began in childhood while being home-schooled, where she taught herself how to bake to fill her free time. After studying traditional baking, she discovered that sweet treats and nurturing others were essential to her well-being. Following college and gaining experience in various baking roles, Elizabeth was inspired to launch her punk-themed baking business from her cozy home kitchen in Portland, Oregon, naming it Sweet Thing in tribute to Sonic Youth's album "Goo."
